Some babies come by plane

I love adoption!
It is such a beautiful thing.
I love the families it creates.
I love going to the airport to welcome home a new little one.
I am so glad adoption is a part of my life and the lives of some of my closest friends!
We prayed for this family and this adoption.
Congratulations to my friend Anne, her family and their new baby girl adopted from foster care.
God is so good!

Softball

Greg and C.J. cheering the team on.

Greg at bat.

Stephen waiting to bat.

His turn.

He sent it flying!

C.J. is next. He got a base hit but his brother was out at second.

Greg and the boys are playing softball with our church. It is a great father /son activity.
We enjoyed watching them and cheering them on. Both my boys used to play baseball so it was good to see them swing a bat again.

Holden Beach Trip

We took off the middle of last week to head to the beach again.

It was a short trip with just my three youngest and myself.

Thanks to my dear friend Kim who invited us to their beach home.

We found these beautiful live conchs while exploring.

This was Adam's second time at the beach this year.

We are really enjoying this summer!

The older girls stayed in the water the whole time.

Sam can usually be found near the snacks!

Notice the sand Adam put on Sam's shoulder just before the picture.
He is such a funny boy and looks quite pleased with himself!

We had a fantastic, laid back time!

We are really loving a break from school and all the doctor appointments. We have been super busy but doing the things we want to do. I have so much to blog about from all the events taking place in our lives. I hope to be caught up before we head off to the beach again!

Happy Summer!

Learning to Swim

Are you ready to swim?

Sammy jumping in!

"I'll swim but I won't put my face in."

Adam's turn

He can get out of the pool all by himself.

Two little swim buddies

They did great at swim lessons last week. We still have a long way to go until they are swimming on their own but they really did a great job. Hopefully by
the end of the summer they will be putting their faces in the water.

Great job guys!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to one great dad.

He is always so supportive.

He reaches out to others.

He loves his children.

He loves the things they love.

He is always up for an adventure.

But mostly he just likes to be with us.

He works hard to provide for us...

and wants us to be happy.

He is very loving.

He is the best dad!

We love him very much.

Backing up-The Graduation

The graduate...

and her family....

with C.J. and Adam...

My sister, Sarah, me and my mom

The Cousins

The proud parents

Prior to recital weekend we took one last road trip to Raleigh. The boys were released from their last exam at 12:00 noon on the 10th. We were waiting in the parking lot ready for the 3 hour trip. We had no time for traffic jams, to stop for lunch or even to go to the restroom. Everyone wore their dress clothes in the car and we had packed a cooler for lunch.

We weren't sure we would make it in time but we did. We saw our niece graduate.

Afterwards we enjoyed dinner at P.F. Chang's. Sarah was toasted by me and her dad.
I must say her Dad's toast had us all in tears.

He talked about his memory of her as a baby and the night he remembered them bonding as he fed her a bottle before bed time. And now she has one foot out the door as she heads off to college. It is so hard to let them go.

I do think going through this with Sarah is preparing me for next year
when I will let my first born go.

Happy and sad all at the same time.
