Orphaned no more

Today our church celebrated Orphan Sunday and National Adoption Month.

Part of the service included a challenge to our congregation to eat a dinner of rice and beans and donate to money you would have spent on dinner to Gethsemane Garden Christian Center in Africa.

The other part of the service included the dedication of adopted children. There were 5 families dedicating adopted children today. Each family gave a testimony of how God used adoption to grow their family. It was a beautiful moving service.

We also had pictures of children in Foster Care available for adoption in the Galleria.

The choir sang "Orphans of God" by Avalon. It was amazing!

I am so glad our church is sensitive to the needs of orphans worldwide.

Of course we dedicated Adam today.

We pray that God would use the stories shared today to move in the hearts of others to adopt.

Adam hanging out. He looks like he's wondering what all the fuss is about.

Waiting for our turn.
