Hospital Day Four- Sunday
Sunday was our Panther Party.
All the visitors came in Panther gear.

Not feeling too good in this picture.

Hospital Day Five and Home -Monday

Adam's room was actually on the Panthers floor.
He was so happy about that.
We were given room number 10 which we had stayed in once before.

Here is his nurse Marissa. She was wonderful. All of his nurses were. He loved Jamie and Andrew also. Although when asked by Dr. P if he (Adam) liked the girl nurses or the boy nurses better he said he liked the girl nurses because they were cuter. What a flirt!

One last hug for his nurse.

We are home and have been since Monday evening.

Adam is doing well!

What a relief to have this surgery behind us and to be home, together as a family again.

Sunday Snapshot-The Phone Call

There is only one reason I would run to get my camera
and snap pictures of my son on the phone.

It seemed like a very important phone call with all the "Yes mams" he was saying.

What could make him so happy?

And scratch his head in disbelief?

He had to call his dad and share the news.

Dad was very happy and came right home.

He had to go change his shirt.

Greg and I both cried!

It was the news we had prayed for...

hoped for...

and knew our son had dreamed about for a long time.

He had to tell Emily.

She also was so happy.

Then he called his grandparents

He nervously played with the spices as the news settled in.

We are all so proud!

There are only a few people who have their childhood dreams come true.

A few more phone calls.

Out to dinner to celebrate!

Yes the appointment to the US Air Force Academy came through.
That was our Senator who called to tell him the news.

He has always wanted to serve his country.

He has always wanted to attend the USAFA!

Congratulations Stephen!
We are all so proud of you!

We love you!

Adam continues to do well. Today is "Panthers Day". If you coming to the hospital today you must be in Panther attire. You will be featured on the blog tomorrow. Just keeping it fun for my boy. If you are just here for Sunday Snapshot I should let you know Adam had MACE procedure and hypospadias repair surgery last Friday.

Hospital Day Three

Playing doctor with Sam right after surgery

He still smiled even after surgery. (the morphine was pumping)

Audrey Kate decorated our white board...Welcome Back Adam!

Smiles again this morning.

We took a wagon ride to see the Sir Purr display.

The whole family was together this afternoon.

Adam is doing as good as can be expected. He has bouts of pain and other times when he is happy and playful. We are to get him out of bed three times a day and that is tough on him.

All in all we are doing fine. He is healing and hopefully by Tuesday we will be going home.
Only time will tell.

Thank you for all the prayers!

Tomorrows Sunday Snapshot is about some very exciting news we received this week.

Surgery Day

I wanted to share this email from Adam's preschool teacher Miss Anne. This is my last update today because this is the best way to remember this day.

Just so you know.....I swear this is 11:00, we were in circle and we said a prayer for Adam. I said a line and the kids repeated it. I cried and so did Miss Lori. :-) (we are babies!) I thought he was going later in the day, but he was going in just as we were praying......God it GOOD!
Thinking of you! Anne

3:00pm Update: He's done and in recovery! He is in a lot of pain but it is over. Now onto the healing. We all appreciate each and every prayer said for this sweet boy.

1:40 pm Update: Adam is doing well; one procedure is done and they have started on the next. I don't know what order they were done in. So so ready for this to be over!

Dr. Adam and his nurse gave his bear an IV last night.

Surgery has begun.
They wheeled him back at 10:50 am.
He was nervous.
So are we.
He asked me twice before he left "Mom, are you sure this is safe?"
He shed a few tears as it came time to go.
I did make him take his Panthers hat off before they took him back.
I promise you he would where it everywhere.

Greg and I are in the waiting room trying to keep busy on our computers.

I will update as soon as possible.

Keep praying!

Hospital Day One

We checked in this morning to the hospital at 10:00 am.
Adam was in his Panther jersey of course. He wears Panther clothes in some way everyday.

Little did we know that today the Panthers were coming to the Hospital for an important fundraising announcement. We were told Sir Purr and the Top Cats would be there at 2:00pm.

We told his nurse they could do whatever they needed to but at 2:00 we were headed downstairs to see Sir Purr.
The IV team even worked around our schedule.

The number one draft pick, best Panther Fan ever could not miss this.

Adam yelled "Sir Purr" as soon as he saw the big cat.
And his ol' buddy came right over to him.

Just like old times!

Our friend Riley Fields was there to make the announcement.

Sam Mills III was there to tell everyone about "Keep Pounding".

There will be a 5K May 17th to raise money for cancer research.
You get to run up to the top of the stadium and back down as part of the course.

The confetti cannon was there too.

It was a great way to start off our stay at Levine's.

We are now settled in our room, IV in place and working on getting cleaned out by morning.

Pastor Divine came and prayed for Adam and we feel completely ready for surgery.

The nurses all love him. One lady from the IV team said she would babysit anytime and she was going to sneak back down to his room just to see his cuteness.

He is so loved.

This is the verse Pastor Divine left for us.

Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lord Himself goes before you and is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Therefore do not be discouraged or afraid.

The Lord Himself has gone before us. I will sleep good tonight!
