Black and White Wednesday- Audrey Kate

This is my girl on Easter Sunday. I like her in Black and White.

But I think I like the color photos better.

I was just talking photography today with my friend Brooke Brown.

She is a great photographer.

Check out her work here.

She loves God and donates some of her profits to various causes.

She is so giving. Maybe if your in the area you could use her service.

I think I could use some pointers on my black and whites.

I might be taking another photography class with my friend Kim soon.

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Easter

I'm a couple days late but we hope you had a

Happy Easter!

We were missing Stephen.
He was at the beach.

A rare picture of Greg and I

It was a beautiful day here.

We had a beautiful service at church.

We finished the day with an Easter dinner here at our house
with Greg's parents.

Luke 24:6-8
He is not here; He has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: "The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again." Then they remembered his words.

Fishing Trip Part Two

Success!

C.J.'s catch

My boys...minus Adam

The crew

Stephen, C.J., and Matthew, cousins and friends

The mountains of NC are so beautiful!

This picture was taken right before they left to come home.
You can see it on his face.
He is saying goodbye.
He is starting to prepare for what is ahead.

We have begun seeing a change in him.
Things are winding down and he has a sense that they will never be the same again.
His time at home is coming to an end.
In fact he leaves in two months from today.
Not sure how much time he will be at home anymore.
For sure he will be back for a couple weeks next December.
We are not sure that he will be able to go on the fishing trip in the future.
Colorado is a long way from North Carolina.

He thanked Greg the other day for everything he had done.

He told him he would not be where he is without him.

Yes, the change has begun!

Fishing Trip Part One

Greg took my old camera on the fishing trip
this year so the pictures are not great.

The memories are!

Stephen and Pappy

My nephew Matthew

My brother- in- law Jimmy
C.J. and his catch

Stephen doing what he loves

This might be his last trip.

They love this trip and look forward to it every year.

They caught a ton of fish and enjoyed each others company.

They have so much fun and eat tons of guy food like chicken wings, hot dogs and pizza.

They build fires and hang out at night.

They fish in the day.

They come home completely rested and relaxed.

It is so go to have them home!

For my friends

I was looking at my email when the Land's End ad came up.

Sammy said "Mommy is that your friends?"

I said "No honey they are swimsuit models."

She said "Oh they look just like your friends."

Just thought I would share the love with all my friends.

Samantha is wise beyond her years isn't she?

Black and White Wednesday

New life and old.

Adam met his great grandmother on Monday.

I'm pretty sure she was not aware of who we were.

Please pray for her.

She is close to heaven.

The Choice

So did he check the box accept or decline the appointment?

He is 100% sure!

He accepts the appointment to the United States Air Force Academy!

We are very proud of our son!

Be strong and courageous."

A trip for him or me?

A couple of Sundays ago I posted about the "Phone Call".
Check out that post so you will know where this post picks up the saga of choosing a college.

It has not been an easy decision.

Although it seemed like a dream come true when the call finally came the doubts set in.

We had to take a trip.

So Greg and Stephen and I set off to Florida, the University of to be exact, last weekend.

He had so many things on his mind and was so conflicted.

Greg and I made it clear where we stood and felt like the USAFA
was the best choice and not to mention his childhood dream.

Greg and I both felt any other choice would be a mistake.

However while we were touring I really liked the campus and
could see why my son wanted to go here.

We were able to attend the Orange and Blue spring game.

We felt the Gator spirit!

We had a great time.

I was beginning to think this trip was more to give me peace
about his decision than it was for Stephen.

He was accepted into the College of Engineering.

He would still be going Air Force as he received an ROTC scholarship.

He also received an academic scholarship.

He is still committed to serve his country either way he goes.

The UF campus is beautiful!

He knows we love and support him no matter what!

So is he a Gator?

Or is he a Falcon?

We really liked it here.

Well everything except the live Gators
that live right here on campus.
See him in the pond.
Yikes!

So what is his decision?

Check back tomorrow and I will let you know.
