A beautiful sight!!!

The painting has started without me.
I am still working on my "to-do" list.
Two more items and it is done.
I am sure you are excited to know that.

Anyway, my dear hubby started painting our bedroom Saturday.
We have been in our house for 4 1/2 years and this is the last room to paint.
I love the color we chose.

I convinced Greg we could save money by painting it ourselves.

I have turned over a new "frugal" leaf. More on that later.

So after painting all day Greg said he is hiring painters for the rest of the room.

Oh well. I tried.

I am still trying to convince him we can finish it. I promised to help.
I just wasn't here Saturday to lend a hand.

However it gets finished I will share before and after photos
and also show you all my frugal finds.

Favorite Things- Obsession

You may think I am crazy...
and I might agree but...

I am obsessed with labels.

If it's standing still it's getting labeled.

So this past January, three months ago, I was at St@ples with a friend.

When all of the sudden we spotted the M@rtha Stewart collection of
all things organization.

Now my friend is just like me (you know who you are).
Birds of a feather flock together.

And we went a little nuts over the labels, calendars and notebooks.

They were so cute and color coordinated.

There are large chalkboard labels and chalk to go with it,
permanent clothes labels for sweaters and jackets, calendar labels,
and paper labels with ties.

The cute metal labels are from B@llard Design.

All of the labels are still in the package and calling my name.

I crossed 5 things off the to-do list yesterday.

Ten more to go and these labels are coming out.

I can't wait to start organizing!

I'll share pictures when I'm done.

Yes, I am obsessed.

Spring Fever

It's been a while.

A lull in my blog does not indicate a lull of things to blog about.

Just the opposite.

We've been busy and when we are I can't find the time to blog.

These pictures do not go with this post.
They are just so sweet of Sam looking for 4 leaf clovers.

I have a to-do list of 15 things.

Most are very important.

Like calling Adam's doctor to talk about surgery this summer.

I will only get to a few items today though as I will be gone most of the day.

Then there are the items that didn't even make it on the list.

Those are the things I want to do but don't have to do.

Things like cleaning out closets, organizing, going through the kids
clothes and donating what they have outgrown.

Painting our room.

Redoing the planters on the porch.

Looking for new dinner recipes. I'm in a rut.

But for now there are birthday parties, horse shows and other things that take up our weekends.

There is something about the Spring that makes me want to clean out and organize.

It's my version of Spring Fever.

I am thankful for such a full life.

Otherwise I might be bored.

Too Cute!

Sometimes it is so strange to me that I missed this stage with Adam.
I was given all the pictures taken of him at Harmony House and I am thankful.
Sometimes it is just sad that I missed out on so much cuteness.
Who would not want to love on this baby?

Adam, I am sorry I wasn't there sooner.

You were such a cutie pie.

Then and now.

Love you buddy!

Horse Trouble!

Or maybe I should say troubled horse
Check out the picture below.

He is sneering at me.
We did not get along.
He bit Audrey Kate 5 times.

Look at his eyes in this picture.
He is looking at me again.

When we were bathing him for the show he tried to kick us and step on us.
One time he used his hoof to drag the hose over then he stood on it.

They wouldn't let AK go get him out of the pasture because
"sometimes he can be trouble."

Every time I came near him he would not stand still.

Once the barn manager walked by and said "He's a real pill isn't he?"

That's an understatement!

Blaze is sick so we take the horse we can get.

Blaze, please hurry up and get better!

"Work is Fun!"

Yesterday Adam went to work with Greg.

They had to head out to GA for a basketball tournament later
that day so Greg decided to take Adam to the office
and then leave from there.

Adam was so excited but said "I don't know how to make pickles."

That's okay Adam daddy doesn't either.

Greg said Adam was coloring for about 10 minutes after they got there
then said, "Do you get breaks around here?"

They went out for lunch and watched the ACC tournament.

Later he was snacking, coloring and the tournament was on in Greg's office.

Greg said Adam looked up at him and said,
"Dad, work is fun."

So much for trying to convince everyone that selling pickles is hard work!

The truth is out.

Work is fun.

Pizza and Bingo

We just finished a fundraiser for band.
It was a cookie dough and cheesecake sale.

We love cookie dough and cheesecake, however, I do not like asking my friends to buy
something they really don't need.

So when the band did a fundraiser that involved entertainment
and a way to feed my family dinner I was all over it.

C.J. and Megan joined in the fun.

Adam and Sam didn't really get the concept of bingo but were excited anyway.

We didn't win one single thing.

I felt like a winner though.

We left with my kids fed and my kitchen was still clean.

Top that Tuesday!- Arm Wrestling

I will keep this up as long as they keep giving me material for
Top That Tuesday!

This was the scene on Monday morning at 6:50 AM.

Greg and Adam were arm wrestling.
Sam wanted to watched but said "Oh I need my hat first!"

She grabbed her Dr. Seuss hat she made at school last Friday because
the contest could start until she did!?

Then the arm wrestling match was on.

Did I mention it was 6:50 AM?

Do other families do this before school?

I really need to know.

If not then I just gotta say...

Top That!

Christopher James- Sunday Snapshot

The other day C.J. came home from school and walked into the den with his bible in his hand.
He told me he had been memorizing scripture.

After a quick glance at his bible he quoted the 23rd Psalm.
The next morning as he was leaving for school I asked him to say it again.
I will never tire of hearing my kids quote scripture.

The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD

Psalm 23

Scripture is powerful.

It can transform your life.
