We grew up at the beach so surfing was a natural love.
Our first date was to the Outer Banks.
We went to the Lighthouse and Greg surfed while I hung out on the beach.
Greg spent about a month surfing in Hawaii in his late teens.
Here in Charlotte surfing has faded into the background.
When we first moved here Greg sold his board.
His love for surfing however has never died.
Every year at the beach he rents a long board.
This past August a friend of his invited him to go to Nicaragua to surf.
He jumped at the chance.
You are never too old to do what you love.
Even with a bad knee.
I am convinced he is going to use up every last bit of that knee before it needs replacing.
Isn't that how it is supposed to be?
What are we saving it for if we never do what we love?
Honey I am so glad you went.
You've still got it.
I wish I had been lying on the beach watching just like all those years ago.
I think the phone is ringing.
It's Surfer Magazine!
They want these pictures!!!!
They are doing an article called "Old Guys still Shred"
