One less!

There is one less orphan in the world.

Meet Levi.

My friends Doug and Joy are the proud parents of this little guy.

They are still in China completing all the paperwork.

You can follow their journey at generations of faithfulness .

Congratulations Doug, Joy, Levi and the rest of the Huber family waiting at home!

Cool Weekend!

The title really should say cold weekend!

It was so cold up in the beautiful NC mountains.

Banner Elk had a cute little craft show in the center of town.
AK loved the Alpacas and now wants one of her own.

We hiked Linville Falls, one of my favorite places.

This is how Adam got up.
We are just so happy he is still small enough to get up there on Greg's shoulders.

The view from the top is incredible.
I am so glad he got to experience it.

Thanks to Dad!

Even Jesse made it up.
Mountain Dog is her new nickname.

The mountains wouldn't be the mountains without Gem mining.

I think we have tried just about every gem mine around.

This was one of our favorites.

Stephen, look at the fish you missed out on.

There were huge trout....

at the trout farm.

We didn't actually fish there.

You had to keep what you caught at 6.95/pound.

The fish were huge!

Adam decided he was tired of being carried and found a new way to get around all the slopes.

He just rolled down.

We had a great time.

Our cabin had a hot tub and the community had a nice indoor pool.
We ate at the Daniel Boone Inn, hiked, swam, fished, shopped and really enjoyed the weekend.

I love being with my family.

We missed you Stephen.

Happy Memorial Day!

Looking back

For us, both of the boys graduations have been a time of looking back.

These pictures of them as little boys were before digital so to view them we have to dig them out of the basement.

Without a special occasion like graduation we might never go looking.

But now is the perfect time to get them out and remember all the fun and good times.

I am working on his party invitations and announcements.

It is really coming fast!

Prom 2013...

is in the books!

After CJ and his date left we headed over to the Rollin Bobcats end of season party.

We had a fun time.

The kids swam and played basketball.

Of course there were wheelchair hugs from Coach Mike!

It was a wonderful Saturday.

May 16, 1994

Nineteen years ago we said hello to C.J.
Injured at birth, not sure if he would ever use his right arm but so sweet is how he came into this world.

Even now at 6'3'' he is still so sweet.

He loves his family and is especially close to his younger siblings.

Graduation is a few weeks away and college a few months away.

So many changes on the horizon!

Happy 19th CJ.

We love you!

A look back.

Sorry guys I had to do it.

Sometimes I just miss these days.

My super heroes!

Mother's Day Weekend

Mother's Day weekend started out with a special Muffins for Mom morning at Sam and Adam's school.

I love all the hand made gifts and I am thankful I still have small children who love to make them.

After they presented their gifts each mom was asked to share a story about their child.

I shared about each of their "Gotcha Days", the day I became their mom.
These two LOVE their Gotcha Day stories.
I shared about how in a small office building Samantha was brought in by her nanny.
I shared that I walked over and took her in my arms for the first time and she reached around and played with my hair just like Audrey Kate did as a baby.
I knew she was meant to be my baby.

I shared about how when we walked into the office in Taiyuan City Adam was already there wearing his Chinese Silk outfit. I told about how when we walked in he sat up straight and straightened his hat. He was so proud. I talked about all he had survived and how he so wanted a family.

I told them I was very thankful for these two blessings!

Sunday morning we went to church and lunch.
I got a picture with ALL my children.
This is a rare event these days.

My morning started out with breakfast and coffee in bed.

Jesse had a little photo shoot.

Sammy enjoyed flying her kite.

I enjoyed hanging out on the back porch.

Everyone came out to enjoy the beautiful Carolina weather.

Even Cody!

It was a fantastic Mother's Day.
I felt loved and very pampered!

The day after Mother's Day we said goodbye to Stephen.

He loaded up the truck with everything he needed for his new apartment in Chapel Hill.

He has a year and a half lease on his new place.

I doubt we will see him anytime soon.

It is bittersweet but it is time to fly.

Fly little birdie fly!
