8th grade moving on ceremony

Wednesday was her last day of middle school and we went to her moving on ceremony.

Each student's name was called.

Miss Seahafer, one of her favorite teachers.

Mrs. Winchester

Mr. Sams and Mrs. Russell

Proud Mama's

Maggie and Margaret

Congratulations to Audrey Kate and all of our friends moving on to 9th grade.

The moving on ceremony was so nice.

Audrey Kate was so sad to say goodbye to her teachers and school. She has loved her time there.

She has had some great teachers that will be hard to replace.

She has been with most of these kids since 2nd grade.

We already know from experience that the next 4 years will be gone fast.

I really wish we could slow the hands of time.

We are enjoying all of these moments.

Last Day!

Could it be possible....

It seems like yesterday they were ready for the first day of preschool.

I am certain I sent them off this morning as second graders.

This afternoon they returned as 3rd graders.

I am thankful for every minute with these two.

They make life fun!

Fixing what is broken

Only God can fix what is broken in the lives of children who have been orphaned.

Adoption is a way God works to mend what is hurt.

Our little guy came to us hurt.

Six and half years of life as an orphan takes a toll on such a little spirit.

His exterior was hard.

Any smiles we got during our trip to China were there because we bribed him to smile for a photo.

It was not his first response to smile, not in any situation.

But this is why you see people continually go back and adopt again and again.

The transformation is the work of God.

And it happens right in our home, right in front of our eyes.

God is that close.

He is only capable of good work.

It is , as always, such a privilege for our family to be molded and used by God.

We are thankful for where we have been and where were are.

Tomorrow Joshua will have one more part of his broken life fixed.

His teeth were not taken care of and he has quite a bit of dental work to be done.

He will have hospital dentistry. He will be put to sleep for a hour and half procedure.

When he wakes up his teeth will be restored.

One more reason these children need the love of a family.

Sarah's College Graduation

I am catching up on May events this week.

Mother's Day weekend we traveled to Raleigh to celebrate my niece's graduation from
 NC State University.

The kids were all dressed up so of course I used it as a photo op!

This is the best picture so far of all my kids. It is so hard to get all 6 of them looking at the camera and smiling at the same time.

My nephew, Matthew, is a junior at ECU. Go Pirates!!!

We picked Stephen up in Chapel Hill and we had a good laugh when we realized these two had accidentally dressed alike.

Just like old times!

Sarah was so happy to be DONE with school.

Welcome to the real world sweet Sarah.

This is my sister's family
My niece Emily is a Sophomore at ECU. Go Pirates!

Yes, my sister had 3 in college at one time.

The proud grandparents, Mimi and Pappy.

The cousins are all together for the first time.

I have a feeling this will be a rare picture.

As the kids grow up we see them less. Boo!

And finally a decent family picture.

I am thinking about doing a post with all of our attempts at a family picture.

Let's just say Joshua was not fond of having his picture taken in the beginning.

I will take this one.
